How many students are in a Spanish class in Barcelona?
Maximum 10 students per class, guaranteed. Most classes in Barcelona run with 6 to 8 students. The school is located in a modernist 19th-century building in the heart of Barcelona — small classes mean you speak Spanish every single lesson rather than waiting your turn.
When can I start a Spanish course in Barcelona?
Every Monday, year-round. There is no fixed intake date. Barcelona is one of our most popular destinations so we recommend booking at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance for summer months (June–August) to secure your preferred accommodation option.
What accommodation is available near the Barcelona school?
The school works with homestay families and student residences/ flats, both within easy reach of the school. Homestay is the most popular option as it gives you daily Spanish practice outside the classroom — sharing meals and evenings with a local family dramatically accelerates your progress.
Is Barcelona a good city for learning Spanish or is Catalan spoken everywhere?
This is one of the most common questions we get, and the honest answer is: Spanish is spoken everywhere in Barcelona without exception. Catalan is the co-official language and you will see it on signs, but every resident speaks Spanish fluently and will always respond to you in Spanish. Your immersion experience will be 100% in Spanish.
Is Barcelona too touristy to get a real Spanish immersion experience?
Only if you let it be. Your mornings are in a classroom with a native teacher and international classmates — fully immersive by design. Your afternoons and evenings are yours to explore. The key is to choose homestay accommodation and join the school's evening activities, where you mix with locals rather than tourists. Students who do this consistently report the strongest immersion experience of any of our 17 destinations. Note: classes can take place during the afternoons took in that case the mornings are free!
