Spanish School in Córdoba — Intensive Courses Since 1953
The Spanish school in Córdoba has been teaching Spanish to international students since 1953 — making it one of the longest-established language schools in our entire network, and one of the most respected in Spain. Founded in the heart of one of Europe's most extraordinary cities, the school has spent over 70 years refining an approach to language teaching that offers structure with genuine human connection.
The school is housed in a well-equipped modern building in the city centre, close to the Mezquita and the Jewish Quarter, and uses the standards of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) across all courses and levels. What distinguishes Córdoba from many other language schools in Spain is the class size: a maximum of just 6 students per group — the smallest guaranteed class size in our network. If individual attention from your teacher matters to you, Córdoba is the answer.
In 2019, the school was recognised as a pioneer in language teaching in Spain — an acknowledgement of over six decades of consistent excellence. The teaching staff are all native Spanish speakers, and the school's location in Andalucía means students are immersed in one of the richest and most distinctly Spanish regional cultures in the country from the moment they step outside.

What Does a Typical Week Look Like?
Spanish classes run Monday to Friday, typically from 09:00 to 13:00. That gives you four focused hours of Spanish every morning — enough to make real, measurable progress every single day — and leaves the entire afternoon and evening free for everything Córdoba has to offer.
A typical day in Córdoba during your course looks something like this: class until 1pm, then lunch at one of the small restaurants near the school where the ‘menu del día’ costs around €10–13 and the waiters have no interest in speaking anything but Spanish. In the afternoon, the Mezquita and the Jewish Quarter are both within walking distance — you will visit them multiple times during your stay and notice something new each time. By late afternoon, the school's activity programme might take you to a flamenco demonstration, a guided tour of the old city, or simply a conversation evening with other students over a glass of local wine.
Evenings in Córdoba follow the Spanish rhythm — dinner rarely before 22:00, and the old town comes alive with locals rather than tourists once the day-trippers have gone home. This is when your Spanish practice becomes effortless: ordering at a bar, chatting with the family you are staying with, navigating a conversation you did not plan. This is what immersion actually means, and Córdoba delivers it naturally.

Frequently Asked Questions - Spanish courses in Cordoba
How many students are in a Spanish class in Córdoba?
Maximum 7 students per class — the smallest guaranteed class size in our entire network. This level of individual attention from your teacher is what makes the Córdoba school genuinely different from most language schools in Spain. You speak Spanish every lesson, your teacher knows exactly where you are and where you need to go, and progress is measurably faster as a result.
When can I start a Spanish course in Córdoba?
Every Monday, year-round. Córdoba works beautifully in spring (March–May) when the famous patio season is in full bloom and the city is at its most vibrant, and in autumn (September–November) when temperatures are perfect and the city belongs to locals rather than tourists. Summer is very hot — above 38°C is common in July and August — so it is worth factoring this into your timing if you are sensitive to heat.
What accommodation is available in Córdoba?
Homestay with local families is the most popular option and works particularly well in Córdoba — host families typically live within walking distance of the school near the city centre, and meals are a natural opportunity to practise your Spanish in a relaxed, authentic setting. The school can also help you find a hostel or hotel in Córdoba if you prefer more independence.
Is Córdoba suitable for DELE exam preparation?
Yes — the school offers an intensive course specifically focused on DELE exam preparation, structured around your exam date and combining group classes with targeted practice on the specific skills the DELE tests. The school's long experience and small class sizes make it particularly well suited to exam preparation, where focused individual attention matters more than in general language courses.
What is there to do in Córdoba outside of Spanish classes?
The Mezquita — one of the most extraordinary buildings in the world — is within walking distance of the school and can be visited multiple times during your stay; most students find something new each time. The Jewish Quarter, the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, the famous flower-filled patios (particularly spectacular in May during the Patio Festival), and the local tapas scene are all on your doorstep. Córdoba is a compact city — everything is reachable on foot, which makes it one of the most effortlessly explorable destinations in our network.
